    This airline has been in the news lately - apparently spurned by United (again). One might think this airline is not an attractive partner for a merger. But at presentations by its management at the airline's media day was most impressive. Particularly that given by its COO Robert Isom. We got a chance to meet quietly with Mr Isom and speak about the remarkable changes occurring within the airline on an operational level. Doing lots of small things right - with a focus on maintaining the schedule - has led to big changes within the airline. Its numbers in terms of performance are something to be proud of. One thinks back to the days when Continental's managers worked wonders within that airline - and look at it today. This airline is a lot stronger than many realize.
